The home care software company that gets it

Since 2015, Nightingale has been on a mission to solve the real problems facing Australian care providers who support people in their homes and the community.

OUR STORY

We dreamed of a platform that does it all. So we built it.

We didn’t start as another software company trying to crack the care market, we began as a humble two man operation working within a disability services business trying to solve the unsolvable.

We were tasked to build a platform that does it all.

No more spreadsheets.
No more disparate systems.
No more CSV exports.
No more audit anxiety.
No more 6am panic calls to fill shift withdrawals.

And about 200 more… no more’s.

So we got to work. We embedded ourselves in the care sector and had countless conversations with support coordinators, care managers, executive teams and frontline workers who were drowning in systems that fought against them instead of helping them.

OUR PASSION

We were inspired by the heart of the industry.

These problems that needed to be solved, were driven by passionate people providing services, support and care to some of the most vulnerable people in Australian communities. Yet providing that care was becoming more regulated, more admin heavy and with little room for any mistakes.

What we discovered was that most home care software was built by people who’d never worked a shift, never had to explain a funding shortfall to a family, or never felt the pressure of an NDIS audit.

We decided to do things differently.

Browser-Check--Streamline-Core

Today, we’re Australia’s trusted truly unified care platform, processing over $1 billion in transactions and supporting thousands of users across the country.

But the numbers that matter most to us are the hours we give back to care teams and the stress we take away from coordinators trying to do impossible jobs with inadequate tools.

Our Mission & Vision

Our Vision: A world where Nightingale facilitates the highest quality care.

Our Mission: Empower providers to increase their impact by revolutionising their operations.

We’re inspired by Florence Nightingale, who understood that care isn’t just about compassion, it’s about precision, evidence based practice, and having the right tools to make a real impact. Like the nightingale bird that brings clarity of song even in darkness, we bring clarity and confidence to care providers navigating complexity.

The Australian Advantage

Pre-validated claims that get approved first time

Nightingale is 100% Australian owned and operated, with our entire team of 40+ professionals based across the country.

From our sales and customer success managers – to our developers and admin team – every person supporting your implementation understands Australian regulations, funding models, and the unique challenges of delivering care in our communities.

Why Australian built matters

  • We live and breathe NDIS price guides, aged care standards, and Support at Home requirements
  • Our support team works in your timezone and speaks your language
  • We understand the complexity of Australian awards, penalty rates, and industrial relations
  • Updates and compliance changes happen in real-time because we’re watching the same regulatory landscape you are

Our distributed Australian team means local support is never far away. Whether you’re in far North Queensland or metropolitan Adelaide, you’re working with people who understand your operational reality.

Our Team of Passionate Care Advocates

Behind Nightingale’s home care software is a team of technologists, care sector veterans, and problem-solvers who are genuinely passionate about making care delivery work better. Our developers have backgrounds in healthcare technology, our customer success team includes former care managers, and our leadership team has decades of experience in both technology and community services.

What unites us isn’t just technical expertise – it’s the belief that good software can have a profound impact on people’s lives. When we reduce administrative burden for a support coordinator, we’re giving them time back to focus on their participants. When we streamline claiming processes for an aged care provider, we’re helping them secure the funding they need to deliver quality care.

The team behind the innovation

Our team is distributed across Australia because care happens everywhere, and we want to be close to the communities we serve. From major cities to regional centres, our people understand local challenges and can provide support that feels personal, not corporate.

Our Company History

We’ve been around for over 10 years! And we’ve achieved alot in that time.

Alayacare acquires Nightingale

October 2025 marked a pivotal moment in Nightingale’s story. AlayaCare’s acquisition brings new resources and innovation to our platform without changing what makes Nightingale trusted by Australian care providers, our local presence, sector expertise, and commitment to people.

For our clients, this meant they received the benefit of working with their familiar Nightingale team, enhanced by AlayaCare’s technology investment and research capabilities.

It’s an exciting phase that is testament to everything we’ve built, and the benefits we provide to our customers.

Together, we’re building solutions that tackle the real challenges facing NDIS, aged care, and community care providers workforce efficiency, compliance complexity, and delivering quality outcomes at scale.

The long awaited Client & Family App

We really outdid ourselves this time. Customers needed better connection to the families and loved ones of their clients and participants, and we got building.

We reached 5,000 users and kept developing our platform with our customer feedback.

We doubled in size

The industry backed us and we continued to grow with our customers. Our team grew from 6 to 16 in a short period of time.

We evolved our onboarding method and implementation structure, which is still industry leading til this day.

We also achieved our ISO 27001 certification, and we’ve maintained it ever since.

We hired our first sales person

And it was a big step for our team. We’d been founder owned and run, but it was time for our to grow. During this period we launched a whole lot of features, including our NDIS Travel and Transport additions, competency rostering and an SMS Integration.

Let’s not forget the real hero – shift bidding! What an absolute game changer that was. Lastly we added home modifications features.

At this stage we had 6 staff in total. Small but mighty some would say.

Got busy with new features

This was a big year of listening, learning and developing. Lots of near features including custom forms and workflows, and even bigger, our first mobile app for staff!

Ruah WA and ACES NSW joined our growing customer base and we started to see real interest from the eastern states care sector.

Our First Customer!

We liberated the Nightingale platform to the Australian market and secured our first Customer, Family Support WA. Who are still a customer today!

During this year we also finalised our first National NDIS Integration and launched in the aged care sector.

It all begins...

In 2015, the introduction of the initial NDIS trial saw founders John Broweleit and Matthew Hughes’ web development company approached by Family Support WA to build a NDIS-compatible CRM. The development team based themselves inside the customer’s premises so they could deeply understand the operational challenges and requirements of their customer, and the wider industry.

User Driven Development

You spoke. We listened.

Every feature starts with feedback from actual users. Support coordinators, care managers, and frontline workers shape our roadmap because they’re the ones who know what really needs fixing.

Australian Compliance First

Built by and for the Aussie care sector

We knew that Australian regulations were some of the most complex in the world when it comes to care provision, and we built compliance into our foundation. NDIS practice standards, aged care quality frameworks, and Support at Home requirements aren’t bolt on features, they’re core to how our platform works.

Security & Reliability

ISO 27001 certification is more than a badge for us, it’s recognition that care data requires the highest levels of protection. Our Microsoft Azure infrastructure with dual Australian data centres ensures your information stays secure and accessible.
