Aged Care Reform Updates, including CHSP DEX Reporting Changes – June 2025
We wanted to provide you with an important update following the 6th of June announcement from the new Federal Minister for Aged Care and Seniors regarding the implementation of the new Aged Care Act and the Support at Home (SAH) program.
The Australian Government has confirmed that the start date for the new Aged Care Act and the associated SAH reforms and CHSP DEX reporting will be deferred from 1 July 2025 to 1 November 2025. This decision was made in response to sector feedback and reflects the need for additional time to support older people, prepare workers, and finalise system readiness.

Next Steps for Nightingale
We are continuing to progress with the next components for development, and will monitor any updates from the Government as per the comment in the announcement from the Minister for the final details of the Aged Care Rules.
At a high level we are focussed on the development of:
- Participant Statements – work is ongoing with setting up participant statements to show all the information required as per the sample provided
- Participant Contributions – invoicing for participant contributions
- Support at Home claims – claiming for Support at Home
- Care management rollover – facilitating the rollover of care management funding from quarter to quarter and rolling over the outstanding care management funding at the end of financial year
